PDFPrintE-mail

Published by NFASP  in response to the Government's Town Centres Initiative  - these guidance notes are for artists, local authorities, property owners, developers, and anyone with an interest in how an empty property can be used as affordable artists’ workspace - althogh much of the information is transferable to use as exhibiton space. It considers the benefits of these schemes and some of the steps necessary in setting up studios in empty shops and other vacant property. Examples of good practice are provided, as are links to useful documents and further reading.

Arts Council England has allocated   £500,000 of  National Lottery income as a fund to which artists will be able to apply for grants to help them carry out artistic activities in empty shops made available to them through the scheme.
