Post Election Advocacy - Some Initial Thoughts

Some initial thoughts prepared for the VAGA Advisory Group, with particular emphasis on advocacy at a local level.

• All parties have signed up to idea of localism –the devolution of funding and decision-making to local communities

• All have a strong focus on communities helping deliver services

• All parties will cut public funding – local cuts likely to be felt quickest

• Total Place / collaborative working / shared budgets / commissioning – these agendas won’t be going away so ensure you understand them
