Become a VAGA Member



VAGA works as an advocate on behalf of the contemporary visual arts, furthering the concerns of the sector and representing the interests of members to government, policy makers and opinion formers. VAGA operates as catalyst, promoting best practice and endeavoring to be one step ahead. As a member you become part of a professional network of organisations and individuals dedicated to innovation and excellence.

  • Be informed: via this website, VAGA members have access to the latest policy information and news; reference material; conference and seminar listings and links to other sites of professional interest. You will receive regular e Bulletins and can sign up for a weekly national education policy bulletin.
  • Network: participate in annual meetings, bring your expertise to specialist groups and working parties; share and exchange knowledge, skills and information.
  • Inform: add your voice to national policy consultations and research. Work for change.
  • Promote: this website is a focus for members and a public interface for the sector. Use it to promote your work to other members and the public through images and news items. Organisation members are also listed on the Parliamentary Constituency page of the VAGA ePolitix microsite within the ePolitix government information portal, (click here).
  • Benefit from free or concessionary entry to exhibitions at, amongst others, the Hayward Gallery Tate and Whitechapel Art Gallery .
  • Advertise job opportunities to other members via the members' email lists.

Join VAGA as an Individual, Organisation or Affiliate

Individuals - open to individuals professionally engaged in the visual arts and working for the public benefit. Subscription categories are linked to salary/income level and employment status. Employees of Member Organisations, who would like the benefit of additional individual membership are eligible for the reduced rate of £15 (Category D).

Organisations - open to organisations engaged in the production, promotion, exhibition and distribution of the visual arts for the public benefit. Subscription categories are linked to annual revenue. Categories C - F are entitled to additional named representatives.

  • Category D - 3 named representatives
  • Category E - 4 named representatives
  • Category F - 5 named representatives

Affiliates - open to like organisations, public bodies, libraries, development agencies etc. Affiliate members have access to all benefits other than voting rights.
